Technology
The same down.A fundamentally different structure.
Natural down, transformed into a continuous sheet. A remarkable upgrade to down insulation that improves thermal coverage, simplifies construction, and removes the variables loose fill and synthetic fills introduce.
The Core Principle
Down in a uniform layer.
All the warmth, comfort, and compressibility of traditional down — fixed in a stable plane so it eliminates cold spots, shifting and clumping, and can be manufactured with more breathable materials.
By building down in fabric form, down is distributed uniformly, locked in place, delivering consistent coverage across every centimeter of the finished product.
Uniform layer
Every fiber in its place. No channels. No containment architecture. No stitching to interrupt the thermal plane.
Key Principles
How the technology performs.
01
Higher Thermal Efficiency
Traditional down jackets use stitched chambers to contain loose down. Those stitch lines interrupt insulation and create cold spots. Thindown provides a continuous layer of down across the garment, delivering warmth, comfort, and protection in a lighter, slimmer profile.
02
No Migration
The continuous sheet format locks down in position throughout movement, washing, and compression. Loose fill shifts and creates gaps. Thindown stays in position through repeated use.
03
Breathable Fabric Options
Stable insulation eliminates the need for dense downproof fabrics. Thindown products can use fabrics more breathable than traditional downproof constructions — unlocking the microclimate managing capabilities of down.
04
Multiple Densities
Available from 30gsm to 180gsm, with 180gsm exclusive to HiLoft. The same continuous-sheet architecture scales from ultralight athletic layers to heavyweight insulation. The difference is density — the performance principles are the same.
05
Fiber Blends & Customization
The down matrix can be blended with different fibres for specific end-uses. Inquire with us to learn more about options.
06
Easy to use
Thindown is delivered in 145cm-wide rolls, 15–50m lengths. It cuts, sews, and processes on existing cut-and-sew infrastructure — no filling equipment, no clean rooms, and significantly faster production time.
Specialty Treatments
Odour control and water repellency.
Optional treatments available across all Thindown variants.
Repel — DWR
Durable water repellency helps moisture bead off the surface, keeping the insulation dry through wet conditions.
Fresh — Odour Control
Anti-odour treatment for sustained-wear programs, including workwear, athletic apparel, and uniforms.
Durability
No clumping. No roping. No migration.
The continuous sheet format solves the durability failures that define loose-fill down and synthetic insulation.
Traditional down clumps when wet
Thindown's matrix keeps clusters fixed in position — wet or dry, the layer holds its structure and thermal coverage. No more need for tennis balls in the dryer or working to redistribute down from where it's shifted during use or in the washer.
Synthetic insulation ropes and flattens after washing
Synthetic fiber breaks down after frequent use and washing / drying — the integrity of the insulation cannot be restored. Thindown's down clusters retain their three-dimensional structure wash after wash.
Loose fill migrates under movement and compression
Loose fill follows gravity and pressure to create cold spots and over-insulated zones over time. Thindown is fixed in a continuous layer and designed to hold its distribution through repeated care cycles.
